Happy birthday, Magic Beach

Can you believe it?  It’s 20 years since Magic Beach was first published.  I have vivid memories of reading it to my small daughters way back then.  It was made especially enjoyable because at the time we had a beach house down in that area of Victoria, and the view from the beach was the same as in the book.  This lovely new 20th anniversary edition is hardback, and has a frieze inside which can be removed and put on your child’s wall.  Truly lovely.  It won’t last forever, so don’t delay.  Even better is the price, $20.  A bargain.

Heather, I also read this to people who were little and are now big. We all adored it. Times flies! I hope Alison Lester’s beautiful books remain in print for many more years to come; they are classics. Also – glad to see you’re reading Cold Comfort Farm – hilarious!
