So there’s going to be a baby…

John Burningham (of Mr Gumpy fame) and Helen Oxenbury (illustrator of We’re Going on a Bear Hunt and Ten Little Fingers and Ten Little Toes) are truly picture book royalty. And though married for more than forty years, There’s Going to be a Baby (HB $29.95) is the first book they have ever worked on together.

There are always a lot of questions when there’s going to be a baby. When will the baby come? What will the baby called? What will the baby do when it grows up? But in the end, none of those things really matter at all. Because whenever the baby arrives, whatever the baby is called, and no matter what the baby does when it grows up, we’re always going to love the baby.

There’s Going to be a Baby is sweet without being too sugary and the lovely message is relevant to any and every family, baby on the way or not.
