Cave Baby

Cave Baby is very lucky. He lives in a nice cave, Cave Dad is very brave and Cave Mum is great at painting. But sometimes it is a bit boring. But then it isn’t. Someone (a silly someone) has left a some paint and a brush hidden in a corner, and Cave Baby thinks he has just about struck gold. What fun it is painting spots on the hyena and stars on the tiger! But Cave Mum and Dad are less impressed with Cave Baby’s art than he would have thought. Are they angry enough to let the mammoth throw him to the big brown bear?? That night Cave Baby can’t get to sleep, and then a long grey trunk wriggles in and whisks him away. Cave Baby is worried, but his nighttime adventure is not as scary as he thought it might be…
Julia Donaldson’s picture books are firm favourites here at Fairfield Books and her latest offering does not disappoint. Cave Baby (HB $27), beautifully illustrated by Emily Gravett, is the cutest cave man we’ve ever seen!
